FAMILY
With a dream of owning a small business, Randy Carrick started a fireworks business as a summer job for his wife Tracie who is employed in Elementary Education. With no prior knowledge of fireworks, the family with their four children soon became pyro experts. The desire to provide the best fireworks at the best price became their motto.
The Carrick family is entering their 19th year in the fireworks business. Starting at their home in Scandinavia WI in 2006, they expanded to Greenville WI in 2007 and New London WI in 2013. Today they continue to operate these three locations with each location continuing to be family run.
In October 2015 after their most successful season the family suffered a loss as Randy, owner of the business, and husband and father of the family passed away unexpectedly to a brain aneurysm. Also during 2015 his wife Tracie had been battling Breast Cancer and fortunately has been in remission since.
The family picked up the pieces, learned the inside and outs of owning a business, and has continued on with the legacy of Randy for every season since.
PRODUCTS
We may be open for a short period of time during the fireworks season, but the fireworks research is a full time job. We are proud to boast that every product has been hand picked that we sell. What that means is if its on the shelf, it should not disappoint. We have either tested the product ourselves, seen it at a wholesale demo, or used a variety of online video resources to ensure it is up to our standard.
Fireworks have evolved over the past few decades with the ability to create brighter colors, more effects, and louder bangs. We want to ensure we have a firework for everyone. We have maintained a steady flow of new products as the industry creates them while continuing to carry the staples that we believe every store should be offering.
Our stores are permitted to sell all consumer fireworks. We will carry the smallest of novelties for the enjoyment of kids to the largest bangs for the enjoyment of adults. Not all stores especially the big department stores have this ability.
Finally, the pricing structure we use is no non sense. As a family we always ask ourselves, what would I be willing to pay for that product? The price is set from there and we ensure it is as cheap and competitive as possible for the WI market. The supposed buy one get one sales and other marketing strategies are nothing more than a gimmick and usually result in a higher price still. We are proud to offer the best products from all the best brands in every firework category at the best price. It really is that simple.
